User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 I had the bloglines extension installed. I then installed the newest bookmarks synchronizer extension. They both appear to be installed, however the bloglines extension is no longer functioning. I restarted, reinstalled bloglines extension, restarted, and it still isn't functioning. (Not functioning means icon doesn't appear in lower right and options don't appear in the contextual menu) Links: http://cgi29.plala.or.jp/~mozzarel/addon/firefox1_0/bookmarksftp/bookmarksftp1_0_1.xpi http://bloglines.com/downloads/BloglinesToolkit_1_5.xpi Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Firefox 1.0 2. Install bloglines extension & restart 3. Install bookmarks synchronizer & restart 4. Examine contextual menu & lower right for bloglines features Actual Results: Bloglines features are not available Expected Results: Should have been available
Extension bugs/incompatibilities should be reported to their developers, not here. Please contact Torisugari (BookmarksFTP author) and Bloglines tech support telling them about the problem.

On further investigation, I was able to uninstall both extensions, then restart and reinstall both successfully. To me, this suggests that there really is a bug in Firefox that causes extensions to stop working in some circumstances.

extensions' behaviour depends on the order you installed them. If they work after installing one of them first and don't work after installing them in reverse order, that's probably the event handlers bug. please do contact these extensions' authors nevertheless if the problem is reproducible.
Unfortunately, it seems not to be reproducible. When I tried again to reproduce it, in either order, it worked okay. I realize that this makes it extremely difficult for someone to figure out what might have gone wrong. However, if sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, that does seem like a bug to me. I will contact the two authors as well, though.
