There are quite a few crashes being reported in Thunderbird 0.9 from users that
import their Mozilla profiles.  Most user comments say that the data is imported
successfully, but they crash on startup or checking email after doing the migration.

then crash occurred shortly after.

didn't do it quite right. None of the mailboxes within each account that was
imported appeared. Then just for a test I tried to retrieve my new mail messages
and then the program crashed.    Mozilla is

Sp2 today  Thunderbird crashed with SP1 as well.  I'll try last Thunderbird's
release and/or recreate a new profile on monday.  Great thanks to Thunderbird's

this might be as easy as adding a null ptr check on folderToDownloadTo

I see David added some code to this routine as part of Bug #266536 on October
28th which started using folderToDownloadTo in that method. 

Jay, anyway to tell if this crash was present in say Thunderbird 0.8 as opposed
to 0.9?
that theory of mine is probably in correct. The old code still called
RunNextGetNewMail and one of the first things that routine does is derefence the
folder to download to variable without checking for a folder...

Scott, I think it's worth a try - it could be that we don't find the INBOX on
the initial run after migration, or something like that...

Jay, our attempt to fix this has been checked into the trunk and the branch.
What would you like to do with this bug? Close it and verify after some time has

Multiple accounts on same POP3 server case?
If yes, Thunderbird 0.9 has problem of bug 268034 and same directry is set in
"Local Folder" settings for multiple accounts when migration, and is used for
multiple accounts.
This possibly causes similar error to Bug 218439, although Bug 218439 is IMAP

Yeah, the topcrash table for that release is usually a good place to look:

I don't see this stack signature in the TB08 data, so it's safe to assume that

One czech users <rna@wo.cz> met this crash (TB2092879H) and he provided some
info <http://forum.czilla.cz/viewtopic.php?p=20330#20330>, summary in English:

  I'm downloading e-mails from all accounts, but one account has files on 
  non-existent disk, which exist only when PGP disk is mounted. Previous 
  versions of TB 0.8 and Netscape were silently ignoring accounts without
  files. In TB 0.9 it often works, but sometimes TB crashes.

I'm going to hope that this patch fixes thid bug and mark it fixed pending
talkback analysis over the next week or so.
