Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

On Windows NT4.0 with 65536 color screen 1024x768

When I updated Firefox from 1.0 pre-release to 1.0 Release, the Mozilla Firefox
desktop icon became heavily dithered so it looks ghosted. The areas that should
be orange are now alternating yellow and red pixels, and part of the earth is
alternating white and blue or green pixels.

Did the icon change so that it now uses colors not available in a 65536 color
desktop? It looked fine before I did the update.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. I had Firefox 1.0 pre-release with normal looking desktop icon
2. I installed Firefox 1.0 Release and now icon looks dithered/ghosted
3.

Actual Results:
now icon looks badly dithered/ghosted

Expected Results:
icon should not look ghosted

I was using a version of SphereGnome as my theme, and the version I had was not
compatible with the Firefox 1.0 Release version. This may have caused some
extra delays or error messages during my installation. I am now using the
correct version.
This bug description is obviously identical to

I just posted a possible solution there.
