Nov. 12 2004 build of Sunbird; OS X v. 10.2.8
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Remove or rename Sunbird directory in ~/Library/Applications
2. Launch Sunbird
Actual Results:
Sunbird icon appears blinking in dock. Icon disappears briefly. Icon
reappears. Dialog ("Any old extensions that you have installed have been
disabled") appears.
Dismiss the dialog by clicking "OK". Sunbird icon disappears from dock.
Nothing else happens, the software does not load.
On subsequent launches, Sunbird seems to load flawlessly.

Reproduced this bug using OSX 10.3.7 and Sunbird 0.2; one interesting feature that's pretty hard to figure out: 1) First launch fails as described. 2) Subsequent attempts succeed. 3) Removing ~/Library/Application\ Support/Sunbird folder causes next attempt to fail again as in step 1. Given this sequence of events, one would expect that the Application Support folder for Sunbird is created as a side effect of step 1, or before it crashes or whatever. That way it's present before step 2 and that's the reason Sunbird doesn't bother to crash. But that's not what happens; after step 1 but before a second attempt, there is still no ~/Library/Application\ Support/Sunbird folder, so I can't figure out how Sunbird knows that it's supposed to crash sometimes but not others.

We haven't seen this bug in almost a year. Not sure what fixed it, but it appears something did. If it reappears we can reopen. -> WFM
