When i try to recieve a an e-mail with an attachment larger then 3 mb my whole
network crashes. Even my internet won't work after it. I have to reboot windows
xp before to restored my network. When XP is shutting down he say's that
thunderbird won't respond but also "XPCom EventReciever"
I am using thunderbird 0.9 dutch edition. I have 4 e-mail account on
thunderbird. (Two Hotmail accounts, one pop3.zonnet.nl account and one
pop3.thrijswijk.nl account wich is an e-mail account from my school)

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Be shore to have an e-mail with an attachment larger than 3 mb on jour webmail.
2.Try to recieve the e-mail
3.when beginning to download he crashes

Actual Results:  
My network crashes. Thunderbird and windows and every software still works but i
can get on the home network or on the internet. I am in an network  so i connect
to the internet via the homenetwork.

Expected Results:  
Download the e-mail.

Ihave a similar problem using 1.0pre, windows 2000pro sp4.
Server is exchange 2000, via Imap/ssl

When I select a message with attachment smaller than 3Mb, it displays fine. For
message with attach over 3 Mb, it starts downloading then hangs.

I can ctrl-dalt-del and kill thunderbird, but then when I restart it it hangs.
If I kill it again and restart, thunderbird then works OK. If I later retry to
open an attachment over 3Mb, same problem : hangs, crrash, then works.

This is reproducible.
I made sure the exchange server has not 'enable fast message retrieval' checked.
(as per bug 92111, comment 24).
Also tried setting user_pref(mail.server.server2.fetch_by_chunks, false); in
user prefs (server2 is the imaps server) as per bug 92111, comment 45
neither did fix the problem.

When I receive a large file thunderbird hangs and I unable to receive   
emails anymore until I delete the conflictive email by another program   
   
 Im using thunderbird 1.0.2 on windows

afaict both reporter and fidox may be gone
