RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 261272

(Reporter: bill.sheppard, Assigned: mscott)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041109 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 0.9 (20041103) (downloaded from mozilla.org)

I have an address in my personal address book with the nickname "mom". I also
have an LDAP address book set up. If I type "mom" quickly followed by [tab] or
[enter] into the email address field of a composition window it will be
autocompleted as "Muriel Sheppard <cookie@sonic.net> >> Tamzida Momen
<Tamzida.Momen@Sun.COM>" If I type "mom", then wait for auto-complete to find
my entry, the LDAP entry won't be appended. Rarely if I type "mom"[enter]
quickly only the LDAP entry will be added without the PAB entry. Note that the
address entry line should be blank when reproducing this - it appears there is
another bug where if there is an existing, highlighted entry, replacing it with
something else and then quickly hitting enter will revert to the highlighted text.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure an LDAP address book
2. Configure a PAB and include an entry with a nickname which is a subset of one
of the LDAP entries
3. With the "To:" field blank, type the nickname and hit [tab] or [enter] before
autocomplete takes place

Actual Results:
Both the PAB entry and the LDAP entry will appear on the To: line

Expected Results:
Only the PAB entry should appear
Sorry, just noticed this is a duplicate of <a

Perhaps there is more information here which will be useful.
