If I try to install a new theme for Firefox 1.0 the ThemeManager pops up as
usual and I get the install window. If I now try to install the theme it appears
for a few seconds inside the ThemeManager and then recently disappears without
installing or any error message.

I already checked my options, "Allow websites to install Software" has been enabled.
The same problem happens if I try to download the theme and install it "offline"
per Drag and Drop.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. "Tools" -> "Themes" -> "Get More Themes"
2. Take any of the available 1.0 Themes
3. Accept the installation

Actual Results:  
The ThemeManager appears then for a few seconds the new theme appears in the
manager and disappears again.

Expected Results:  
The Theme should be installed and listed inside the ThemeManager Windows.

This Bug happend to me in earlier versions of Firefox 0.8 and now happen with
Firefox 1.0 but not by using Firefox 1.0PR

I uninstalled Firefox, deleted my profile and all folders, reinstalled it again,
created a new profile and the bug still appears.

wfm. I clicked on the install now link, it asked if I want to install it, then
downloaded and installed.

I just checked this theme, it doesn't work for me and ends in exactly the same
bug as described above.

Ah btw. extensions works without any problem.

Do you use profile from previous versions? When was it created?
You should create a new profile for 1.0

Well I did first, but then created a new one but the bug resists, as said I also
tried to uninstall and reinstall firefox.

I really have no idea what the problem could be because it works without any
problem on my second computer.

Same problem with another user.  click on Cat theme opens Foxfire updater
window, but nothing downloaded or installed.

With themes on my Computer, it comes up as a downloadable file ".jar". It does
not open up the themes pannal.
