I've added the content-base header which works when I use it from search or
message views but when I save it as a search it fails.
tested with today's nightly build on winXP. I tried creating the saved search
from the file -> new saved search, edit -> search messages, and the save search
as folder from message view. None worked.

It's possible that this is failing with all custom headers. I can't get it to
work with x-bugzilla-reason header either.

I can't even seem to be able to search on custom header (as simple as Reply-to
and Delivered-To )- it seems to find nothing, althugh I copied and pasted those
header from email which is in my inbox.

I have the same problem.
I am using Popfile to classify my email. If I run a search on
X-Text-Classification (a custom header added to each email by Popfile) it works
great. If I change this search into a saved search folder, it doesn't find
anything.
WinXP, Tbird 1.0.2.

I'm seeing the same issue with Reply-To. A search works fine (3 hits), the same search as a "saved search" returns nothing.

Note, this is with the 2005-11-03 nightly (version 1.5 (20051103))

I just found that it fails with custom headers but succeeds with Subject. Courier IMAP is the target.
I have the some problem with TB version 2 beta 2 (20070116) on Linux
The standalone search work great, but if I save the search then the search folder doesn't work anymore :(
I have to correct myself.
If I'm in a search folder and I change the search criteria in the search field (top right next to the icon menu underneath the menu) to "Entire Message" and I write nothing just hit the enter then all the folders will be searched for the search folders rules. And I get all the right messages.
search folders rules = search folder's rules
Sorry my English is really bad :(

This is also still an issue with version 1.5.0.10. I created a saved search that, among other things, filters based on the send to address beginning with "list-". I originally used "To or CC" for the criteria, but decided to change to the Delivered-To header. When I make that change, though, ALL mail from the searched folder appears in the saved search. If I revert back to "To or CC", only the matched mail is displayed.
Note: this filter (Delivered-To) works fine when I perform a manual search with Ctrl-Shift-F. It only fails when I used the saved search feature. It'd be really great to finally fix this 2+ year old bug for the 2.0 release.

Also, should this really be considered "New" at this point? It seems to have been verified by a number of people across pretty much every version of Thunderbird.
