User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041109 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041109 Firefox/1.0 There are two issues with that page: 1. Crash if printing to file. Plain and simple. 2. Print preview is skewed to the right. Only the first or second pages are OK, the others keep going to the right until the last page has a very narrow column of text. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Print page to file. It crashes. 2. Print preview. It's skewed to the right. 3. Actual Results: 1. It crashed. 2. Print preview is wrong. Expected Results: 1. Shouldn't crash. 2. Print preview should not skew to the right.
I am using Firefox 1.0. Printing to file a web-page with a java applet (the java
applet was displaying a bar-code) causes firefox to crash.
The print to file works fine in other cases.
Here's the console dump:
/usr/local/firefox/run-mozilla.sh: line 159: 3309 Segmentation fault
"$prog" ${1+"$@"}

(In reply to comment #0) I'm getting the same behaviour for http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8565498/ It doesn't crash but it seems to refuse to do anything and doesn't respond. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b3) Gecko/20050713 Firefox/1.0+

I'm not seeing the crash in current trunk build. Reporter, what is the talkback ID you got? Also, could you test this again in current trunk build? http://ftp.scarlet.be/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/
Component: General → Printing
Product: Firefox → Core
Version: unspecified → Trunk
Assuming that particular webpage I used as a test case (the redhat one) has stayed the same all these months, then the crash-when-printing-to-file-bug is fixed. I just tried with mozilla 1.7.8. Print preview isn't skewed to the right anymore, but there is a big gray box in the first page over everything. I'll now try with the msnbc page.
I was also able to print to file that msnbc page with mozilla 1.7.8. Print preview also seems correct.
I previously got this with Firefox 1.0.4 and today getting it with just released 1.0.5. Only at msnbc.com site's pages, and not all pages. Example is http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8565498/ It will just hang with printing box there until Firefox is closed out and will happen again if Firefox restarted and try to print that URL again. Has only happened since msnbc.com made "some changes" to their site a few weeks ago. Windows XP-SP2 Home just patched Tuesday. AMD Athlon XP 3200+. 500mb RAM.
hiyatoho@prison.net: hangs are not crashes and crashes are not hangs. this bug clearly indicated in comment 1 that there was a crash floating around. i'm going to assume that the reporter did not actually have his browser crash given the 1. 2. sequence in comment 0. vinayvinay@gmail.com: please find/file a different bug for your crash, ideally complete w/ a talkback incident id.
I'm the OP, and in my case it was a crash when *printing*. *Previewing* had a different issue. I didn't try to print *after* previewing, however. FWIW, for me both the crash and the print skew are fixed now.
