I looked in the junk mail folder this morning. The only thing it had was
messages that I wanted to see. It is classifying good messages as junk. I'm not
sure how your junk mail filter trains it self, but if it is analyzing the
messages that I delete it is making a false assumption. I subscribe to several
genealogy mailing lists. Almost all of the messages are about families I have no
interest in so I read and delete. Once in a while I will get a message from a
mailing list that I really want. There is no reliable way to tell if the message
is of interest without reading it.

You have to train the junk filter yourself, by marking spam as Junk and also by
marking known good messages as Not Junk. Those are the only actions used for
training. If you find messages in the junk folder that should not have been
there, mark them all as Not Junk and move them to where you want them.
