Text input fields of any kind (address bar, HTML input field, search bar) will pick up text backwards when a java applet is up.

Anytime a Java Applet is running or after it has ran, any text input field
imaginable (except for those in another java applet or flash document) produce
certain characters backwards. For instance, the word joke would come out jeko.
