The added ability in Moz Thunderbird so when a user makes a multi-selection of
posts the contents of those posts would appear collected in the view pane.

The user may have an option to direct whether the posts will appear stiched in
the view-pane in forward or reverse order.

This way newsgroups could avoid "quotation" clutter altogether while at the same
time tech support people can multiselect and see (or print) all responces in one
screen.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Right now the when multi-selecting the view-pane is completely empty.
This functionality (it seems) can fit right in without interfering with anything
existing.

Expected Results:
Thunderbird, should automaticaly gather the text contained in the
multi-selection and stich it (on the fly) in the message-view pane.
Shows in graphical form the enhancement request.

How so? No other client does this, and one of the reasons quotations are
considered good form is because some people might not even have the older quoted
messages visible in the thread pane, which would interfere with this scheme as
well.

In fact, the message pane would become far more cluttered because the messages
that do contain quotes (most of them) would cause display of the same text over
and over again in the pane.

I would not like this feature; recommend WontFix.
Summary: Selection of multiple posts to automatically dispaly a cumulative succession of said posts in the message-view-pane → Selection of multiple posts should display contents of all in message-pane

Respectfully disagree.
When Moz peruses the multi-selection to calculate "stitching" it would
ignore/drop the large blocks of quotation pre-existing on each post. It will
only include the non-quotatation region of each post.
(In a post with interleaved responses the parts of quotation region which is
impregnated with non-quoted text is considered non-quotation region)

Maybe it is time for Moz to take the pioneering lead and let others follow.
There is a segment of the population that dislikes the idea of cummulative
bottom-feeding of posts. They find it redundant and a bad etiquete.

I believe this method is the best of both worlds.
Please reconsider.

Also, let me mention that this multi-selection-view functionality is only a
display at the message-view pane... it will not physically change the
composition of the posts themselves. Think of it as a Preview type of thing.

Thanks,
-Thomas
