Details

User-Agent: Opera/7.60 (Windows NT 5.1; U; cs)
Build Identifier:

Firefox uses HTTP 1.1 as default setting for requests sent to HTTP proxies and
there is no simple way how to change it (it's necessary to change the
configuration file manually). I think this is a bad idea because some proxies
(such as WinProxy) don't fully support HTTP 1.1.
Note: In Mozilla it can be changed to HTTP 1.0. (this feature isn't available in
Firefox, probably for simplicity).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run a proxy server which doesn't support HTTP 1.1
2. Set it in Firefox as the HTTP proxy server
3. Try to visit various web sites

Actual Results:
Many web pages can't be viewed (after manual change to HTTP 1.0, they will start
 working).

Expected Results:
All correctly coded web pages running on protocol-compliant servers must work.
Summary: HTTP 1.1 as default for proxy requests → HTTP 1.1 as default for proxy requests causes malfunction in some cases
Version: unspecified → 1.0 Branch
