Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041117
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20042206

Upon launching the browser the bookmarks failed to load into the sidebar.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Launch Mozilla suite

Actual Results:
Bookmarks fail to load.

Expected Results:
I expect the bookmarks to load.

Please note that the bookmarks in my profile are unaffected (neither corrupted
nor deleted by Mozilla. After I deleted the suite nightly from my Mac and
reinstalling the suite nightly from Nov 17, 2004 (2004111710) the bookmarks
displayed as expected in the sidebar.
Looks like a regression from bug 265987. See bug 265987 comment 18.
Additional information. This build seemed to corrupt my profile. At some point
Mail and News failed to open. All attempts to open Mail crashed the browser. I
reverted to earlier nightlies, experiencing a crash with opening Mail. I tested
a number of earlier versions with no luck until I tested 1.7RC2. This build
fixed my profile and I was able to return to a newer stable nightly of 1.8a4.

This build also created(?) an OS instability in the Mac OS. The only solution
was to reinstall the OS update 10.3.5 -> 10.3.6.

I wonder if these issues my have some connection with this bug or is a seperate bug?

Appologizes, I am openning this bug. I thought I reported this bug for a version
of Mozilla earlier than 1.8a5. The 1.8a5 versions have been too buggy to be
useable on my B/W G3-350. I am re-opening this bug.
