User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 No matter what link I click it tells me that it cannot find that page and to check the name and try again. It even does this when I try to go to Mozilla.org, google.com and just about every site I try. After reclicking the site 2 or 3 times it will finally open the site without any problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on web page or link 2.Gives error message saying it cannot be found to recheck name and try again. 3. Click the same link again 2-3 times and it will finally open the web page. Actual Results: It tells me over and over no matter what link that it cannot find that page, to check my spelling and try again. Sometimes it is a link from Mozilla.org and it still won't find it. Expected Results: It should open the web page on the first click of the link. I have an AMD processor XP 2700+ with 512mb of Ram. I am running Windows XP 2nd edition.

Maybe a problem with your network connection? Do you have any extensions installed?

Do you have Firewall enabled? Is Mozilla listed as blocked program?

I do have a firewall but Firefox has full permission on it. It is even allowed to bypass the lock.

I suppose you didn't mean to resolve this bug as WONTFIX, did you? Reopening. I can't reproduce your problem at all. I'd suggest to try a new profile: http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile And if that doesn't help, post a message to the support forum: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38

After installing Firefox 1.0 1.7.5:2004110711 over a previous version 1.7.3:2004100109, I cannot get Firefox to open ANY web page on start up or after. It gives the message: "xxx.xxx.x.. could not be found. Please check the name and try again." where xxx etc. is the URL. This is perfectly reproducible with any URL I choose. This suggests that somehow Firefox is not seeing the network. Simultaneously, IE is seeing the net on the same computer. OS = Win2000 SP4; platform PC The net access settings are the same as in another computer (on the same home wireless network ) running the older version: direct internet access, all behind the same Norton Internet Security firewall. The older version was working perfectly on the computer, still is on the other computer. I uninstalled, reinstalled, and got the same problem. As a result I am using IE again. Any ideas for what this is about? It is not a "known issue" @ mozilla.org.
