Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

On any text box on a page, clicking on the left border of the textbox puts the
cursor at an apparently random point within the text.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a page with a textbox
2. Enter some text in the textbox
3. Click on the left border of the text box

Actual Results:
The cursor moves to some unrelated location in the text

Expected Results:
Either:
1. Cursor should move to before the leftmost character
2. Cursor position should not change

Please assign this to the correct component. Is it a Gecko problem?
The bad news is, it's a duplicate. The good news is, even though bug 153766 is
still open, it seems to be magically fixed by, er, something, in current nightly
builds of both Firefox and Seamonkey.

Great! I knew this must have been picked up by someone, but couldn't find it
anywhere.

Maybe we can shed some light on why this has been solved?
