lose selection after clicking the delete button many times

here's what I was doing:

1) I was in my imap folder (that contained many small bugzilla message), with my
message pane open.
2) The first of 100 bugzilla emails was selected.
3) Instead of doing a select / delete, I decided to do start clicking like a mad
man on the delete button in the toolbar.

After a certain point, before all the messages were deleted, I lost my thread
pane selection.  Since nothing was selected in the thread pane, the delete
button was disabled.

I've been able to reproduce this, and I've been able to reproduce it by pressing
the delete key many times.

I'm using version 0.9+ (20041117)

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but this behavior also exists when pressing
the delete key on the keyboard.  

Client:  Thunderbird 0.9 on Windows XP
Server:  Cyrus IMAP (latest version) via SSL

If I press the delete key before the selected message is finished downloading,
it will be deleted, but afterwards nothing will be selected.

Is this a dupe of bug 268098?

I see that too.

I think I'm on UW IMAP, no SSL

I think so.  But I've confirmed that bug, either way.

Mac OS X too. I think the term should be 'message pane focus' where you use
'selection'. please consider adjusting summary. tnx

Confirming with Thunderbird (en) version 1.0 (20041206). When I click quickly on
the « Delete » key many times, after I selected the first thread in the thread
pane, the selection is lost, and no more delete can be done.

xp; tb 1.0.2)

I was about to file a bug on this very issue but found this one had already been entered.

I'm using Thunderbird 1.0.7 on Windows 2000 and I don't have to hit it "many" times. In any folder, if I press the delete key more once or twice, focus will eventually get lost. So instead of the next message after the one I just deleted getting selected, nothing is selected.

Very annoying and also an accessibility / 508 issue.
