When I want to download something I always get the alert:
Het bestand/content/downloads/unknown Contenttype.xul kan niet gevonden worden.
When I change to <blush>IE</blush> no problem. Dowenloading starts immediately.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
see above

Expected Results:
download
This is with 1.7?  unknownContentType.xul is a toolkit thing used by Firefox;
Mozilla does not use it... Are you using any extensions?
have you perhaps installed the firefox-only security update
(http://www.mozilla.org/press/mozilla-2004-10-01-02.html)?

if so, that was a bad idea... mozilla is not compatible with that update. it
does not have the problem with or without the update.
There are some bugs for failure of download manager.
See Bug 271751(DUP of Bug 256365), Bug 256365 and Bug 180672.
If similar problem, deletion of compreg.dat may be a workaround.

since none of those are talking about an alert about a xul file, they are
entirely different.
got a private mail indicating that a reinstall fixed the problem. marking bug
invalid.
