This would be most helpful for email discussion groups. However, under the View --> Threads pulldown, there's a "Watched Threads with Unread" option. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: N/A Actual Results: N/A Expected Results: Watchable / Ignorable threads in email.

I think, maybe, that this should be two bug reports: One, a feature request to watch threads in e-mails. Two, a bug report for giving the option to sort e-mail by watched threads, but not giving the option to watch e-mail threads.

This is a duplicate of bug #179033 I think.

As it happens, that bug is for the suite and this bug is for Thunderbird - and this is purely a front end bug.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. Disturbing to see such a feature missing in Thunderbird - is no one using this application for mailing lists? ;) Anyway, is there a known workaround to "emulate" this feature while this one's still open?

(In reply to comment #7) > Disturbing to see such a feature missing in Thunderbird - is no one using this > application for mailing lists? ;) Anyway, is there a known workaround to > "emulate" this feature while this one's still open? It is possible to "emulate" this feature for filtering by manually editing the actual filter file (e.g., msgFilterRules.dat).

msgFilterRules.dat - How? Is that documented anywhere, or are there even examples out there?
