I'm tracking nightly builds of Thunderbird, currently version 0.9+ (20041123). RSS feeds work fine, apart from the feed from Wil Wheaton's blog ( http://www.wilwheaton.net/mt/index.xml) which is powered by movable type. It lists all the blog entries but I'm unable to read the contents in the Message Pane or delete items from the feed. Other movable type feeds, such as http://www.sixapart.com/log/index.rdf work without any problem and http://www.wilwheaton.net/mt/index.xml validates correctly using http://feeds.archive.org/validator/ . I'm not really knowledgable with either xml or rss, and I'm unable to work out whether there's something in the feed that prevents it from working, or if Thunderbird is handling it incorrctly. Apologies for logging a needless bug if it's the former case.
I've spent a few hours trying to narrow down this bug and I've finally found it despite my hopeless xml knowledge. This bug appears to be triggered by the presence of a question mark (?) in the channel title, see the attachment for a simple example. Wil Wheaton's blog has such a question mark :-)
Severity: minor → normal
Summary: Problems reading RSS Feed http://www.wilwheaton.net/mt/index.xml → Problems reading RSS Feeds with ? in channel title
Using a nightly from 11/27 this feed seems to be working for me. Or is it because the offending question mark is no longer in the feed? Can you try again on the current 0.9 nightly?
this is working for me
