Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

When I click on the Firefox icon, nothing happens: there's no Firefox splash
screen to indicate that Firefox is in fact starting up. The average home user
will see nothing happening and will click again, and again, and perhaps again
before the browser actually opens.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on the Firefox icon.
2. Wait for something to happen.

Actual Results:
Firefox eventually appears, but only after several seconds of terror: is it
actually starting up?

Expected Results:
As soon as possible after the executable is invoked, display a Firefox splash
screen that persists until the browser screen displays.

It's the little things that count with non-web-savvy users.
