User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; T312461; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0RC1

Seems similar to bug 265140. When Quicktime loads to play an MP3, Firefox
becomes unresponsive.

QuickTime Plug-in 6.5.1

My default .mp3 handler is Windows Media Player

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Browse to http://www.openbsd.org/lyrics.html
2. Scroll down to version 3.5 and click on "MP3 version of song (5:21 minutes,
9.7MB)"

Actual Results:
Firefox shows Quicktime logo and locks up. Can only be shut down using
Windows "End Task" feature.

Expected Results:
Firefox should play MP3 using Windows Media Player

Behavior unchanged in build:
 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107
Firefox/1.0

I've experienced a similar problem playing a Quicktime MOV file in Firefox 1.0.
The file (located on the site http://www.obetv.co.uk/) started playing, then
hung (causing the speakers to hold the last note received) and caused Windows
2000 itself to become unresponsive. The only remedy available (as the keyboard
locked up) was to switch the computer off at the mains and reboot Windows. This
may of course be due in part to bad design of a specific website, but as it
crashed the whole OS, I thought you'd better be told about it.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
