User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Hi, I'm receiving a strange pop-up message in Firefox (below). It happens no matter what website I'm at. I rebooted, restarted firefox, cleared the cache, checked the security lefvel, and still it keeps occurring. What do you think? James Jacobs "There was a problem retrieving the xml data: forbidden" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open browser 2. 3.
Same problem on Solaris SPARC (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041109 Firefox/1.0) I removed all my "Live Bookmarks" but the issue is still present. It is an EXTREMELY annoying popup appearing every ~30sec!!
after 1 hour having left firefox open, there opened 30 other warning popups and had to close them one by one, so the staple increases always larger

Perhaps have you installed 'Info RSS' extension? I disinstalled it and now the alert popup doesn't appear anymore.
Uninstalling 'Info RSS' extension fixed the alert popup for me also. Thanks Marco!
yes that was in my firefox the problem too , acer laptop , xp , 1.5 GH, the damn rss extension was it , deinstalled it, reopen and perfect. i had 2 rss extensions and deinstalled it both for safe.
That got it. Thanks. Now who is going to pay my mental health professional? That ALERT was driving me nuts.

This just started happening to me, too. I was going to post a bug complaint till I saw this. Thanks so much!
More news. I tried to uninstall InfoRSS, but on restart, firefox wouldn't uninstall. I had our admin log on and install/uninstall InfoRSS in the admin instance of FF. Then logged back in and everything was fine. Apparently, there's an issue with log-ins and permissions in XP. All's well now that InfoRSS has been uninstalled. James Jacobs
