User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 The sent subfolder can't be implemented on IMAP accounts that don't support sub-folders and messages in the one folder as the sent folder is required to be a message only folder. It would be good in such situations to have a sent folder as "Messages only" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. I am having an issue with regard to the "sent" folder for one of my mail server that does not support "folders that contain sub-folders and messages", (see Tools->Account Settings -> Advanced Account Settings) The problem is, I would like to be able to sort the messages that I have sent into various folders, and would like to be able to set the columns to show a default of "Recipient" rather than "Sender" for these folder. The issue arises, because when one sets their default "Sent" folder in "Tools->Account Settings -> Copies & Folders", then mozilla Thunderbird seems to default to showing the "recipient" column for any folders within the sent folder. The problem is, for my main server, I cannot have subfolders and messages together, so I have to have something like: + Sent (f) -Unsorted (m) -Departmental (m) +Family & Friends (f) -Dad (m) -Overseas Letters (m) +Newsgroups (f) -Cinelerra (m) -ACX100 (m) where (f) stands for a "folder only" folders, and (m) stands for a "messages only" folder. Thus you can see that I am still able to sort my "sent" folders, but the problem is, the sent folder cannot recieve messages. Thus I can't really use it as the default "Sent" folder in "Tools->Account Settings -> Copies & Folders", thus I have to set my "unsorted" directory as the default "Sent" folder. The problem is, that the default column set up for all the subfolders of "Sent" default to having "Sender" column rather than having "Recipient". It would be really nice to be able to set preferences for the column headings to display for all the subfolders of "Sent". Does anyone know of how to fix my problem?? (I hope I explained it clearly) An alternate thing is, Thunderbird could be rather smart, and on noticing that the "Sender" is all the same person (by nature of the sent folder) then it could default to showing the "Recipient" rather than the sender.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. This is still an issue.. though I guess it is only for dated ldap servers, (such as the one I'm currently using)

Reporter, does the issue still occur with the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies? (1.5.0.x is now end-of-life and the latest supported Thunderbird version 2 is 2.0.0.16)
