User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041103 Firefox/1.0RC2 Build Identifier: version 0.9+ (20041124) Windows 2000 When I start Tb, and it starts to check my IMAP account for new mail, the cursor changes to the busy cursor (it should use the semi-busy one, because you can still click anywhere and do anything). After it finishes, it remains on the busy cursor, instead of changing back to the normal cursor. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Tb. 2. Check mail. 3. Watch. Actual Results: Cursor changes to busy hourglass, and never changes back. Expected Results: Cursor should change to semi-busy cursor (pointer arrow with hourglass), and should change to normal, non-busy cursor when mail-checking is complete. version 0.9+ (20041124)
but everything works? you can read messages, etc? What happens when you click away to another folder and click back? Do you check folders other than your inbox for new messages?
Yes, changing to other folders, reading messages, etc., the cursor remains an hourglass. When I move the cursor into the message preview pane, it changes into an arrow, but when I move it back out of the preview pane, it's back to an hourglass. (I switched back to Tb 0.9 milestone for now due to the other problems I was having with the nightly, but I can test other nightlies if you need me to.)
Same thing happens for me. It didn't happen in 0.9 but it hapens now in 1.0RC

Similar experience with 1.0rc, also on a Win 2k Pro (SP4) 1. Started out with 0.9 (20041103) - cursor fine 2. Upgraded to 1.0rc - cursor stays busy as reported in this bug 3. Backpedalled to a 0.9+ moox M2 build (20041122) - cursor still stays busy 4. Switched back to 0.9 (20041103) - cursor fine again 5. Back up to 0.9+ moox M2 (20041122) - cursor still ok
could you try this morning's build? I checked in a potential fix last night.
Thunderbird 1.0 does not have this problem for me.
yeah, I fixed this at the last minute...
