This dialog contains a list control with two columns, group name and subscribe.
Could you change the order to subscribe, group name?
This makes it much easier to click on the right subscribe row when you use wide
windows.
And could you add a maximize button?

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

Agreed. It also concerns SeaMonkey, regardless of the Operating System (Some corrections to Product, Hardware and OS fields?). Seriously, a little maximize button would be useful.

UI improvement? -> Bryan
Now this is a dialog seriously in need of UI lovin':)

Hardware: PC → All
I have some ideas on the subscribe dialog here, part of which is motivated at making it more accessible to extension types, other parts by other news subscription bugs, and a final part by the desire to make RSS use the same dialog as NNTP/IMAP. To be brief (as I am not a UI expert), this is what I consider the most important points of a new subscribe dialog:

* Distinguish between real name and pretty name (e.g. "mozilla.test" versus "Mozilla Test Newsgroup") (could also be used to handle the RSS feed -> folder mapping)
* Distinguish between three types of subscribe:
** The server returns a complete list (IMAP, NNTP in general)
** The server returns a list, but there may be private groups not advertised (some NNTP servers apparently, helpful for extensions like listarchive)
** No list to go by, so it's a free-for-all (RSS)
* Searchable
* Async

Ever confirmed: true
Those sound like a pretty good start. I'd love to see you push the newsgroup subscribe dialog into the newsgroup account html page instead of as it's own dialog. It could use a bit more visibility to people and would give us a great place to land users who just created the news account.
Comment 6 seems to not even include comment 0 so I'm not sure it belongs here.
Anyway, comment 0 would be doable easily, while comment 6 is quite unreal in the near future.

The bug title is not very clear. But yes, this bug should be used to implement comment 0. Comment 6 would be for a new, enhancement bug.

Sorry, what's the question? - comment #8 has a few statements. I think subscribe bugs are not high priority.
