Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; Q312461) Build Identifier: With Multiple IMAP accounts, and a series of messages in an IMAP account that have been read, and then marked as unread (eg: for future attention) (therefore being unread, but not new). When TB checks for new mail, all the unread messages are reported as new (in the popup and changed back to new icon in Inbox). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Setup TB with at least two IMAP accounts, with some messages in them 2. Mark some existing messages as unread 3. Wait for 'check new mesages' period Actual Results: Unread messages now marked as new messages. (Icon changes from closed envelope to close envelope with little red star [default theme]). Also reported in new message popup Expected Results: Not changed message state - report 0 new messags (unless there actually are new ones) From testing, this does not happen for messages marked as both unread and replied-to, they stay as they are. This also doens't seem to happen with a single IMAP account, or one IMAP and one POP (etc), only with multiple IMAP accounts. Don't think it's related to the IMAP server software; it's occuring in both my home server (Washington IMAP) and work (Cyrus).

Toby, have you checked with current TB? Works for me using 1.0 (with multiple IMAP accounts), seems to be fixed.

(In reply to comment #1) > have you checked with current TB? > Works for me using 1.0 (with multiple IMAP accounts), seems to be fixed. Afraid I still have the same problems, which is an interesting comparison. If you're prepared to do some comparisons between our setups we might be able to rack somethig down... Do you know the mix of IMAP server software your accounts are using? Do you have multiple accounts from the same host?

Additional testing - behaviour is OK with multiple accounts on differnet hosts, but exhibits bug if using more than one account on the same IMAP host. Definition of 'same imap host': Same mailserver hostname counts as same host (obviously) One account using hostname, one using IP counts as same host. Using different DNS CNAME aliases for same host counts as one host. Using different DNS A records pointig to same IP counts as one host. Experiementing on using multiple IPs for host...
Summary: Multiple IMAP accounts - all 'unread' messages in accounts reported as 'new' on each check → Multiple IMAP accounts on SAME host - all 'unread' messages in accounts reported as 'new' on each check

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
