Drop down list overlaps buttons.  No problem with IE or Opera.  Has happened
with every Build I have used.

This happens on linux aswell on both firefox and mozilla 1.8a5

Why should it? The div _does_ have overflow:visible by default...

I also see this every now and then.  But most of the time a refresh fixes the
problem, but this is obviously not the case with Attachment 16703 [details].

Indeed, you're right. So this is a Tech Evangelism bug, I guess...
I think the part of the select drop down box that is overflown, should not be
transparent, though. But probably it is better to file an different bug on this
(or maybe there is already one).
