User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041110 Firefox/1.0 (PowerBook) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041110 Firefox/1.0 (PowerBook) When I create a new window in Firefox, the window is shifted down so you can see the top of the original window. This also means that the bottom of the new window is covered by the dock, forcing the user to manually move the new window up again. Either the window should be aligned with the top of the screen, or the height should be reduced so that the window doesn't slide under the dock. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Ensure that at least one window is opened. 2. Create a new window. 3. Actual Results: New window is shifted down on the screen. Expected Results: Aligned window at the top or changed the height to prevent the window from being covered by the dock

Works for me as well Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050208 Firefox/1.0+ Could you try it again with a recent nightly official trunk build? (I see you are using an unofficial build)

Still has the same problem as of the latest nightly build.

OK, I have found the cause. When you maximize the Firefox window (The green button) and then create a new window, you don't have this problem. But if you resize the window this problem can be reproduced. So steps to reproduce: 1) Resize browser window. 2) Open New Window(s) until you see it go under the dock
Summary: new windows are shifted down requiring manual movement → new windows are shifted under dock when not maximized
Not limited to "under the dock" - my dock is on the left side of my monitor, so new windows "bleed" off the bottom of the monitor. And since the "find" bar opens at the BOTTOM of the window, this is more than an aesthetic problem.
