User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

Pulled up this URL and it is almost three screens wide forcing me to use the
horizontal scroll bar to see it. Tryed the same URL in IE6 and it shrunk the
form to a readable size with blue borders.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Call up this URL
2.
3.

Actual Results:
It looked like a blank screen, but the horizontal scrollbar allowed me to see
the rest of the screen, but it was quite wide. IE6 handled it what I perceived
as correctly.

Expected Results:
Shrunk the form to a single screen readable size, similar to IE6
Works fine for me. Can you reproduce this consistently?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
I can reproduce with Firefox 1.0 and Mozilla 2004-11-26-06 trunk on Linux.

It's that very long URL near the end that starts with:
http://rdre1.yahoo.com/click?u=http://adfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/ck/
that is causing this.

I disagree with your assessment that this is a duplicate of 218580. The other
bug seems to do with long URL entries. My bug, 272039 has completely to do with
displaying the page on the screen! It does display, but it's just way to big!
Plus, the URL I am referring to is not very long.

Yes it is consistent. One thing I could add it that a small version (similar to
IE6) briefly flickers on to the display, then it immediately reverts to the
oversized version. If this is a parameter within Firefox that can be adjusted,
then I apologize for the bug report, but I haven't found any.
The *reason* the page is so wide is because Mozilla/Firefox does not line-break
a long word at the / characters, such as the indicated URL *on the page*.
If you remove that URL - is the page still wide?
At the bottom of the specific web page mentioned in this bug is the offending
URL. I notice even IE6 seems to choke on it. Pending the debate on breaking
characters, I now understand the Firefox response better and agree that it is a
duplicate of bug 218580.
