In the members area of the online simulation http://www.swcombine.com/, members
can choose different skins for the website. It is also possible to download the
images and styles used on the website to speed up browsing. To use this feature,
it's required to save those images/stylesheets on your harddisk and provide the
location of the directory. The feature does not work with Firefox as won't load
the images and CSS-files stored on the harddisk.

Before upgrading to FF 1.0 (when i still used FF 1.0 PR), the site contained at
least the images stored on my HD, even though it also lacked the stylesheet.
I'm guessing this is related to the security change that http: urls can no
longer access file:// urls because of security issues (can see if files exist
and report back using Javascript).

What you could do instead is put a page that preloads all the images and
stylesheets and Firefox will cache it.
WONTFIX.

We're not about to let web pages access local files, for any number of reasons.
 End of story.
