User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; es-ES; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910 MultiZilla/1.6.4.0b Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; es-ES; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910 MultiZilla/1.6.4.0b I have mozilla 1.7.3 in windows xp sp1 with shockwave 10.1 installed and verified in about:plugins. Saving pages with shockwave director content, for example: http://www.cartoonnetwork.com.ve/play/danger_grid/index.html, then displays the page saved in mode offline and Mozilla displays well the page except for the place where was shockwave content, instead of shockwave content appears a white picture with a puzzle piece, do click and appear a pop-up dialog: "Information on this page requires a plug-in for: text/plain Navigator can retrieve the plug-in for: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/ To retrieve the plug-in now, click the Get the Plug-in button and then select the plug-in you need from the page that appears. If you have trouble ....... ......under Advanced) Get the plug-in Cancel" Do click in get the plug-in and mozilla go to http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/, then download the shockwave player (it has the same version number that the one that was installed), close mozilla, install shockwave player, then start mozilla, open the page saved and mozilla displayed the same that above mentioned. In conclusion, mozilla saves the shockwave director files of pages in archives with extention txt which shockwave player doesn't know to interpret. For verifying the previously said, look the source code of the page and look for the words dir, dcr or dxr, then watching the reference of the archive and observing that indicates to a file with extention txt. Later, Looking for the file in the folder linked to the page saved (page_files) and finding the file with extention txt. This problem occurs same with shockwave player 8.5. P.S. THIS PROBLEM DOESN´T HAPPEN IN MOZILLA 1.4 WITH SHOCKWAVE PLAYER 8.5 INSTALLED Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to a page with shockwave content, for example: http://www.cartoonnetwork.com.ve/play/danger_grid/index.html 2.Save the page to hard disk 3.Open the page saved in mode offline Actual Results: The page saved displayed the same as above mentioned (The place of the page with shockwave content appears a white picture with a puzzle piece) Expected Results: The page saved should display the shockwave content correctly Build platform target i586-pc-msvc Build tools Compiler Version Compiler flags $(CYGWIN_WRAPPER) cl 12.00.8804 -TC -nologo -W3 -nologo -Gy -Fd$(PDBFILE) $(CYGWIN_WRAPPER) cl 12.00.8804 -TP -nologo -W3 -nologo -Gy -Fd$(PDBFILE) Configure arguments --without-system-jpg --without-system-zlib --enable-extensions=default,irc,tasks --enable-crypto --disable-auto-deps --disable-debug --enable-optimize=-O1

The server is misconfigured, it shouldn´t use text/plain as MIME type for flash. As seen with extension LiveHTTPHeaders, all .swf and the game.dcr files are served with Content type: text/plain When I try to load the game directly, http://www.cartoonnetwork.com.ve/play/danger_grid/game.dcr Mozilla asks me what to do with it: the file "game.dcr" is of type application/x-director ... Seems when the object is embedded, mozilla doesn´t guess, but believes to the server, and when it is loaded directly, mozilla starts a guess. I don´t have flash or shockwave installed, but I had on older mozillas.

Yep. This is a tech evangelism issue... This site itself will break too when we fix plugins to not use the extension.
