linux-only, tested with 2004112905-0.9. my bad for not catching this earlier:
there's an access key conflict for "n" between:

Edit > Ca_n_cel Message
Edit > Prefere_n_ces

suggestions:

Canc_e_l Message - use the "e"
Cancel _M_essage - use the "M"
Attached patch the fix — — Splinter Review 
use "M" for Cancel Message on all platforms
