Mozilla 1.5 Alpha 5 GTK2+xft tar package downloaded from
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.8a5/mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-gtk2+xft-1.8a5.tar.gz
has no functional print support as no XPrint printers are recognised.
xplsprinters lists all printers and
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.8a5/mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-1.8a5.tar.gz
can print so the problem is unique to the GTK2+xft package.

The GTK2+xft build has the postscript print driver compiled in, but not XPrint.
 That's probably the fault of whoever provides those builds...
