Iam builing mozilla - 0.9.3 on mips platform.
The linker fails with the message "final link failed: Bad value" while 
compiling the directory layout/build. 
Binutils version used - 2.15

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.use the default browser/config/mozconfig as the .mozconfig file
2.compile using the option make -f client.mk build
3.

Actual Results:  
The linking fails in firefox_0.9.3/mozilla/layout/build' with the following 
error message
/home/sara/usr/local/lib/gcc/mipsel-unknown-linux-gnu/3.4.2/../../../../mipsel-
unknown-linux-gnu/b
in/ld: final link failed: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[4]: *** [libgklayout.so] Error 1


Expected Results:  
Should have finished compilation successfully

The compilation is done successfully on x-86 machine

You're binutils version is up-to-date? You're using Debian or something else?
There was/is a bug in Debian bug system, see
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=254551, but this bug seems to
need reopening according to this bug here and
