NS 4 cancelled this feature (why???). It sure is handy, especially when visiting those heavy bannered sites (like PC-Mag!). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

If you want to block images from certain sites, you can right-click to block those sites. This is not something that's going to be frequently accessed in the days of fast PCs and broadband connections, whereas in NS 2/3 days images were a huge performance drop. WONTFIX.

(In reply to comment #1) > If you want to block images from certain sites, you can right-click to block > those sites. Would you please elaborate? Right clicking on a loading site doesn't seem to provide any such options in the context menu. >This is not something that's going to be frequently accessed in > the days of fast PCs and broadband connections, whereas in NS 2/3 days images > were a huge performance drop. Well, when that day arrives world-wide, I reckon you'll be correct, but until then how about offering an optional toolbar button? I also reckon that webpage authors will find other ways of swallowing up all available bandwidth (Flash, Java, etc.)

While its correct that you may not be able to right-click on the image until the page loads, as far as I'm aware the load images pref gets checked per pageload, so that even a toggle isn't going to work without some rearchitecture. You'd probably have to stop and reload. However, its quite easily accessible via the Preferences panel, and could quite easily be implemented as an extension, which is where it rightly belongs given its relatively limited appeal. Last, as a note on Bugzilla etiquette: Just because you disagree with a resolution doesn't mean you can reopen the bug.

You can use the "Image-Show-Hide" extension to do this. http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=829

(In reply to comment #4) > You can use the "Image-Show-Hide" extension to do this. > http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=829 I'd be satisfied with an extension that works. As I recall when I tried the ISH extension, it has deleterious side effects. Not your problem, I understand, but... And of course there _is_ the tools/options/web features/load images toggle, but please note: that requires up to four mouse clicks to enable or disable each time. A bit unwieldy for a convenience toggle. Any chance of moving it to, or providing a duplicate on, the right-click context menu?
