not a sure dupe, here 100% cpu usage occours, on the other bug it doesn't. This bug needs retesting then. Reporter: Does/Did this also occour with Mozilla 1.8a3?

I am made same test with Mozilla 1.8a5 compiled with GTK1 (FUll installar instead of "XFT+GTK2 build in tar.gz format") and eveything is OK. There was some problem with the XFT+GTK2 binary

confirm this on Mozilla 1.8a4 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a4) Gecko/20040927 XFT+GTK2 build System is SuSE Linux 9.2 CPU load is 100%, browser is full responding but tab stays empty (just white background). Standalone acroread works perfectly.

Confirmed this on the latest nightly XFT+GTK2 build: Mozilla 1.8a6 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20041217 Acrobat plugin works on full-installer build: Mozilla 1.8a6 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20041219 How can I help more with getting this fixed?

I guess this is the same problem as bug 246560 describes. Keeping in mind that GTK2 is about to become the default (bug 270750), this might be a blocker.

Get version 5.0.10 of the adobe plugin. It fixes this bug.

(In reply to comment #9) > Get version 5.0.10 of the adobe plugin. It fixes this bug. OK, since you marked bug 246560 as a duplicate of this one, please explain that. I've just tested again on Sparc/Solaris, GTK2, Acrobat Reader 5.0.10. Problem still exists. Haven't tested Linux yet, but I guess it's still the same there. Over at the other bug, there's someone confirming this. May it be that you accidently tried a non-GTK2 build? Well, at least the other bug is definitely not fixed. But I don't want to reopen anything until you clarified the issue.

I haven't built with gtk1.2 in years, I'll bet. Seems unlikely.
