User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041109 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041109 Firefox/1.0 If a new mail arrives in the Movemail account, the icon left on the Profile name doesn't show the new mail. Only the mail left of the Inbox. So if I keep the account tree collapsed (i.e. "[+] Local" instead of "[-] Local"), I don't see new mails. :( Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a Movemail account. 2. Send you a mail 3. Receive the mail in Thunderbird. 4. The icon doesn't show this. Actual Results: The icon left of the Account name doesn't show the new mail. Expected Results: It should show the new mail just as every normal POP3/IMAP account does.

Do we just need to get a qute server-local-new.png created and add the corresponding biffState-NewMail css? Seamonkey has a server-local-new.gif and pinstripe has a server-local-new.png, but neither are referenced anywhere.

Is this question targeted to me? I don't know, I'm only the reporter.

It's not clear to me what this bug is about. So I took a screenshot of my account named "Movemail Box" just after movemail came in. There is one icon left of "Movemail Box". This one is not highlighted. And there is (one line below) one icon left of "Inbox" which is clearly highlighted. Which one did the reporter mean?

I meant the top icon.

the first account is a normal account, and the icon changes, the second account("local") is the movemail account, and the icon doesn't change

Rich, related perhaps to bug 344066? sorry but I won't be any help with biff and notification stuff - I don't use much if it and what parts I do I don't pay much attention to.

I don't understand either. Is this about not getting the NEW flag? Bug 344066 is about not seeing New status (green arrow in SM, bold blue in TB) on the Account and Inbox items in the folder pane if the mail window is closed when the mail arrives. Sounds like that just doesn't happen at all for movemail... Has this even been tried on a recent/trunk TB or SM? Would any further reporters please make sure to included build ID and OS info?

Reconfirmed with Linux 3.0b1pre. The server does not get the biff state.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20081219 SeaMonkey/2.0a3pre - Build ID: 20081219000443 Haven't paid attention to the icon, but regardless of what I set in "Check mail every...", the only way I can get Movemail mail is to check for it manually (e.g. "File => Get new messages for => Movemail account"). It never gets its own mail, neither at startup (whose checkbox is also on), nor every X minutes if there is any. OTOH when I log in to bash _that_ program tells me whether I have new mail, (old) mail or no mail, so that's what I use for a "biff warning" for that account.

Tonymec, that looks like bug 480945. The original icon problem may be something bug 377507 tries to solve for unread messages. Do we want this for the "newmessages" property too?

(In reply to :aceman from comment #11) > Tonymec, that looks like bug 480945. Yes, indeed it is, and I was the guy who set that bug to VERIFIED a few days after it was RESOLVED FIXED. > > The original icon problem may be something bug 377507 tries to solve for > unread messages. > Do we want this for the "newmessages" property too? Bug 377507 apparently doesn't make a difference between "unread" and "new" messages. Its Summary mentions both. Isn't this a dupe then?
