I am not able to rename the newsgroup folders. I subscribed to several
newsgroups with nearly the same very long name. They are all abbreviated the
same and so I always have to guess, which folder belongs to which newsgroup.
THIS IS A VERY ANNOYING BUG!

That you can't rename newsgroup names because this is by design -> invalid

If you want the full name of the newsgroups use :

If that is by design, the design is bad. It is at least a needed enhancement.
Displaying the full newsgroup names won't solve the problem, because the
newsgroup names are too long to fit into the window in an appropiate way.
So reopened as enhancement.

"By design" in the sense of Usenet design.  Newsgroups can't be renamed, period.

What you want instead is to be able to "alias" them; which is a DUPLICATE of bug
#132247
