From <http://updates.merc-int.com/testdirector/td75/others/netscape/> :

>Netscape Navigator Add-in
>
>To work with TestDirector 7.5 from within Netscape Navigator, you need to
>download an ActiveX browser add-in to your browser's Plugins directory. The
>add-in supports the following versions of Netscape Navigator: 4.78 and 4.79.

Does TestDirectory have support for Netscape 6, Netscape 7, Mozilla or FireFox ?
Hello,

The TD message is "Click here to download Netscape 6 / Mozilla ActiveX plug-in
(self-extract file)." This means that it supports NS 6.

~A.
We are using TD 7.6.

The download-page for TD 7.6 is
<http://updates.merc-int.com/testdirector/td76/others/netscape/>, and still
doesn't mention support for Netscape 6 or higher ...
Hi,

I request you to please get in touch with Mercury and sort the matter. As an end
user I am least interested in whose responsibility it is for TD and FF to work
properly.
I would appreciate that FF and TD works seamlessly, so that my final aim to IE
free environment would succeed.

~A.
(P.S. On more philosophical note... MS succeeded not just due to easy or use of
their products and anti competitive practices, but they have a strong cottage
industry which support them. i.e. strong tiedups with various companies.)

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

Can anyone please contact the test director / mercury guys and impliment this
feature?

Thanks.

feature?

Thanks.
As stated above, the site still says that the plugin is for Netscape 4.78/4.79
and uses the ActiveX wrapper for Netscape. This means this is a TE issue - it
is up to the suppliers to provide a plugin. AG, as you are a user of the
software, it would be best if you contacted them to point out the ommission.
For the moment thouhg, I will assign myself the bug and send off a quick e-mail.

BTW, I had a quick look at the download you pointed to
(http://updates.merc-int.com/testdirector/td75/others/netscape/npmozax.exe). If
you install that file and do about:plugins in the address bar, it claims to be
an ActiveX upport plugin for Mozilla. No mention of TestDirctor at all!
More hunting round the site led to:

http://updates.merc-int.com/testdirector/701/NSPlug-Ins.html

This indicates that there are two steps to install TD. Step one is to get the
ActiveX wrapper from:

http://updates.merc-int.com/testdirector/download/npmozax.zip

And unzip it to the plugins directory. Step two it to install "TestDirector
Client Side Setup", which I found at:

http://uhd_td.uhd.com/addins.html

After a Google search. This seems to install okay, but I have no way of testing
it. A G, can you follow the above steps and report back on success (or not).

BTW, I note that the software in questions is already one version out of date -
I doubt there will be any improvements to it at this stage. The website is
pretty opaque, I have to say.

I downloaded the npmozax.exe and npmozax.zip. Both the files contain the same
dll called "npmozax.dll". I copy/pasted the dll to my C:\Program Files\Mozilla
Firefox\plugins and opened a new instance of FF.

After I try to run the TD from http://xxxx/TDBIN/default.htm, I get opening
default.htm dialog box - which asks for "1. open with (firefoxhtml (default). 2.
save to disk."

When I choose the 1st option, I get a blank screen in a new tab, with the URl in
address bar as file:///c:/DOCUME~1/AJS/LOCALS~1/TEMP/default-2.htm
As I said in comment #11, I think you have to do a second step after installing
the npmozax plugin. But the problem is I can't test if the second step actually
works, as I don't have access to the correct type of server. And note also what
I said about the software being superceeded.
