User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

I want ctrl-f to behave more like the old search dialogue, i.e. not
automatically or at least with a small delay.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.openbsd.org/3.6_packages/i386.html
2. Press ctrl-f to search
3. start typing

Actual Results:
It takes way too long to enter the actual word i want because firefox has to do
a full search after every letter that i type, and the whole browser sometimes
locks up until the search completes.

Expected Results:
searching with ctrl-f should not begin until i've stopped typing (timeout), or
pressed a button. Alternatively typing should not be blocked while searching is
in progress, and the rest of the browser should remain usable.
