User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 StumbleUpon/1.999 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 StumbleUpon/1.999 Build Identifier: version 1.0RC1 (20041201) Virtual folders may be configured to search multiple source folders when gathering their contents. If the View->Threads->All pulldown menu option is selected on a virtual folder that searches more than one source folder, the folder window becomes blank, showing no messages. On a virtual folder searching only a single source folder, View->Threads->All works as expected. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create a virtual folder for a message search (for example, searching for "Fw:" in a subject line. 2.Right-click this virtual folder and choose "Properties" 3.Click the "Select folders to search button". 4.Select two or more source folders. 5.View the contents of the virtual folder. 6.Select "View->Threads"All". Actual Results: The virtual folder shows nothing, even if messages exist. Expected Results: The virtual folder should not become empty, but rather should operate as other Virtual Folders (those that search only a single source folder) or regular folders do.

Reproduced with TB 1.0, Win2K. The problem is a little more insidious. Part of the problem is that threading is actually not possible for search folders -- bug 263180. When a virtual folder is selected, the threading options in View | Sort By are disabled. The UI glitches here are: 1) The View | Threads item is enabled when a virtual folder is selected. 2) The View | Threads submenu has no item checked. 3) Selecting View | Threads | All -- or any other item on the submenu -- clears the display. This bug sounds familiar, but I can't locate another report, so confirming. I expect the problem also exists in the suite.

still fails on trunk - bug 379806 didn't help

this is still weird with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090304 Shredder/3.0b3pre but no crash, so closing crash bugs - bug 465207 and bug 465208

Works For Me on the trunk. Bug 474701 or follow-ons should definitely have fixed it if it wasn't fixed before.
