User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

The advanced page in the options dialog appears to use the "windows background"
color for background and the "menu text" color for text. In some Windows color
schemes (particularly some associated with desktop themes) cause the options to
be unreadable (e.g., yellow on white). I suggest that you use either the
"windows background" and "windows text" colors or the "menu background" and
"menu test" colors (or some other combination that is supposed to be used together).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Invoke screen display properties (right click on desktop and click properties)
2. Go to the appearance tab (if you are in XP, also click on advanced)
3. Set the "Window" background color to white
4. Set the "Menu" font color to yellow or white
5. (Try to) Look at the Firefox advanced options page

Actual Results:
The advanced options page is unreadable

Expected Results:
Used a valid pair or colors for text and background
Timothy, can you attach a screenshot?
The desktop theme theme set the "window" color to white and the "menu" test
color to yellow.
I changed the menu text color to white, and this is what appears on the
advanced options page.

The screenshot looks like its using a non-standard theme. It could be the
theme's fault. I assume his color combination works in the OS..?.
That color scheme is a modification of one used with a desktop theme called
"Chili Peppers". Although it is not a "Windows standard" theme, it renders very
nicely on the screen. Many programs seem to assume that the user will always
use the Windows default colors, and they pick combinations that do not
necessarily go together, like Menu text color on Window background. The
designers of desktop themes come up with all kinds of non-standard combinations
that are lovely when used as intended. The best idea is to use combos that are
made to work together, like Window text on Window background or Menu text on
Menu background. Thanks for the comment.
