Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; Alexa Toolbar) Build Identifier: version 0.8 (20040913) Thunderbird is downloading several copies of a message, sometimes locking up the program so it is almost unuseable. The most recorded duplicates so far is in excess of 12. Sometimes it downloads a message again even after it has been read and moved by a filter to another folder. Happens most often when message is being filtered. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just wait for it to connect to server again. 2. 3. Actual Results: As described in details, it downloads duplicate copies of the message. The server will only show one copy of the message as unread, even though the message has been moved to another folder and has been read at least once. Expected Results: If WAD I would expect the software to link to the server, download a copy of the message, and move it to the relevant folder. After the move to the folder the message should be marked for deletion on the server, and be marked as read. Using just as it came out of the box. Only added UK dictionary for spell checker.

Your version is a tad old, there are newer releases, and chances are high your bug is fixed. ThunderbirdSetup-0.8.exe 14-Sep-2004 01:29 5.8M Thunderbird Setup 0.9.exe 03-Nov-2004 16:49 5.7M Thunderbird Setup 1.0rc.exe 01-Dec-2004 09:58 5.7M See http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=1020843 for more info and links I´m resolving this bug as invalid because of the age of your build. Feel free to reopen, if bug is seen with 1.0RC or a current nightly.

what imap server are you using? I suspect your server is having troubles, since other users are not reporting any problems like this and I have heard reports of a server having similar problems... you could generate an imap protocol log of a session where the same message is downloaded multiple times: http://www.mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#imap

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
