User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

To prevent possible dataloss, the process of upgrading Firefox within Firefox
Update needs to state clearly that upgrading will cause Firefox to close upon
completion.

The wording of the last dialog box before Firefox closes is misleading. It
seems to tell us that after pressing OK, we will then need to restart Firefox
for the upgrade to be complete. However, upon pressing OK, Firefox is closed
immediately which is not expected.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Firefox 1.0RC and launch
2. A red update icon appears. Open update.
3. Choose Firefox 1.0 from the list of items to update.
4. After it completes, read the text displayed, which tells you to restart
Firefox to complete the upgrade.
5. Press OK

Actual Results:
Firefox closes.

Expected Results:
Firefox gives you a chance to save your work or finish what you are doing before
you need to restart.

I tried this again recently going from 1.0PR to 1.0 and the problem didn't
occur. It may have been a problem introduced after 1.0PR and before 1.0RC2.

Just to clarify, that wasn't a worksforme - I was pointing out which version the
bug appeared in.

I just tested it now in 1.0 (upgrading to 1.0.2) and the bug appears to have
been fixed - there is now a message giving me adequate warning that Firefox is
going to close.

In summary:

1.0PR - bug does not exist
1.0RC2 - bug exists
1.0 - bug fixed
