User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 I saw this amazingly useful feature when watching a friend try out a recent version of Evolution: Say you're replying to a huge mail, but you're really only making a point about one or two paragraphs in the middle of it all. When you hit reply, you normally have to go cut out all the extraneous quoted text to make your point. In Evolution, you can highlight a bit of the message before you hit reply, and the new compose window will have already cropped the quoted text to just the bit you'd highlighted. An awesome time-saver! I scurried back to my desk to see if Thunderbird had this feature without my knowing it. Sadly, such was not the case. Can you change that please? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Highlight some text in a mail 2. Hit the reply button Actual Results: The entire mail was quoted in the compose window Expected Results: Just the highlighted section should be quoted.
