RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 266737

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

When running XP, with Firefox in the foreground, switch users using the
windows-key+l command, when you come back to your session the bookmarks toolbar
should appear blank, with the >> symbol on the left. Resizing the window brings
the bookmars back.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. While in windows xp (sp2) start firefox, and keep it in the foreground
2. Use windows-key+l to switch to the login screen
3. Either log into another accound, or log back into windows
4. you should see the bookmarks have dissappeared, and have been replaced with a
">>"
5. Resize window, bookmarks will reappear

Actual Results:
Bookmarks dissappeared, then reappeared after resizing.

Expected Results:
The bookmarks should not have dissappeared.
I've seen this also, with a 1.0 build on Windows XP SP2, though I didn't make
the connection to 'switch user' at the time.

This sounds too similar to bug 266737 to be unrelated.
Related, certainly, since there's only the one bit of code that does the
resizing of the bookmarks toolbar chevron, but I wouldn't say for sure it's a
dup without knowing that part of Windows user-switching minimizes all open
windows, since that's the common thread in bug 266737 and this is reported as
"with Firefox in the foreground."

That said, I can't reproduce this, either by coming right back to the same user,
or by switching to a different user and then back. Chris, any ideas about other
steps/prefs/setup/particular bookmarks that are needed to make it happen? I'm
suspicious that Live Bookmarks refreshing might do it, though I couldn't make
them in testing - got any on your bookmark toolbar? Do you need to stay switched
to another user for an hour, or will coming back immediately trigger it for you?
I have a few live bookmarks in the toolbar, inside of folders. It will happen
immediately. But not always. I'm going to try it with a nightly, to see if
it's still there.
