RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 271259

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/168 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/168
Build Identifier: version 1.0RC1 (20041201)

Since upgrading to thunderbird 1.0rc1 from 0.9 I've been having strange problems sending new mail. It
will send the message, but when trying to save a copy to the sent mail folder, it just hangs indefinitely.

if I then try to cancel out, sometimes it will cancel and give me the "you haven't saved to your sent
folder, edit again?" dialog, and sometimes it will just close the saving dialog but not give me the next
dialog. In the former case, I can attempt to hit send again, and the same thing will happen, and in the
latter, the send button stops working.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. send e-mail
2. wait ;)

Actual Results:
failure to save sent mail

Expected Results:
save to the sent folder and gone back to the main window
And so, as soon as I submit this, I get yet another thing that happens... =)

I just sent another e-mail, and this time it sat for a long time, trying to save to the sent folder, and then
popped up "There was an error copying the message to the Sent folder. Retry?" If I say "OK", it hangs on
"Sending authenticate login information..." in the status bar.
I have the same problem. However, in my case, I have my setting to *not* save
the email to the sent folder. After some period of time, several days of use
and then putting my laptop to sleep, of Thunderbird 1.0, where many emails are
sent without saving the email to the sent folder, suddenly TB trying to save the
email to the sent folder and fails doing so. When TB 1.0 gets in this state, I
can't save the mail to the drafts folder either. Instead of calling this a bug,
I would call this problem a land mine.

BTW, Mozilla 1.7 and the latest Netscape for Mac OS X had the exact same problem.
it's like bug 271259, isn't it?
aha, yes

I hadn't seen that bug when searching bugzilla previously, marking as duplicate
