All contacts contained inside are therefore lost. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create Two Address books and an unempty mailing list inside one of them. 2. Move (or copy) the list with mouse to the other address book. Actual Results: The list changes its type from "mailing list" to "contact." All contacts contained inside are therefore lost. Expected Results: The mailing list should have been copied to the address book with all contacts contained.

Confirming using 1.0 This really should get fixed in 1.1 IMO

I believe this is common code with the application suite, and therefore should be fixed when bug 42879 is fixed (there is a patch on it's way via bug 35837), therefore adding dependency and I'll check this bug again once the patch is in.
Depends on: 42879
This is a very large problem! Mailing lists are destroyed when moving from one address book to another in any format (LDIF, CSV, TSV). You can confirm this yourself by making an address book, making a mailing list, putting some contacts in, exporting it, deleteing the address book then importing it back in. With Microsoft Outlook Express's WAB format, the mailing lists are kept when transfering from MS Outlook Express to MS Outlook Express. I think the problem is that CSV,TSV needs an extra column indicating which lists the contact/email address belongs to (if any).

not a stopper. I'll work with Mark to take fixes for the core bugs he cites if patches become available.

We now have a core component for address book - duping to bug 42879 as that one is now in core. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 42879 ***
