I find the option to use LDAP functionally un useable because of this bug.

Steps.
With Local AB and LDAP option selected. Use typedown addressing to populate a TO
field entry. Once the entry is populated make a edit to the entry.
For example:
Michael Dunn <dunn5557@earthlink.net> change to Michael Dunn
<mikedunnfivefive@gmail.com> 
Click out of the field (or worse hit send).

Result.
The populated entry transforms into another LDAP entry or address never selected.

Comment.
The LDAP AB population needs a thorough test cycle.

This WFM on current trunk and I suspect has WFM for quite a while (given no known duplicates). Please feel free to re-open if it is still a problem in the Thunderbird 3 beta builds, giving steps to repeat.
